Positive Behavior Interventions & Support (PBIS)
Program Outline
- Positive Behavior Interventions and Support (PBIS) is a proactive approach to school-wide discipline.
- This initiative is meant to reinforce the positive behaviors of students doing what is expected as well as supporting students who need extra assistance to reach the school-wide expectations.
- Teachers and Staff will be consistently defining, teaching, reinforcing, monitoring, and possibly re-teaching positive behaviors.
- PBIS can be easily adapted for use at home. Young children thrive in a setting where an adult is in charge and expectations are clear and consistent.
